Go ahead and get the satellite! I really don’t think that I ask too much out of my wife. I go to work, pay the bills, and all I really want to do on Sunday’s is watch football with the guys. My wife has a knack for coming in to the den the moment a big play happens and demanding my undivided attention (usually to ask what I think of an outfit or something like that). The decision cannot be delayed until the end of a play, and she used to call me selfish and tell me that I didn’t care about her when I would ask her to wait one minute for the play to end. However, now all I have to do is simply push the ‘pause’ button, and I can happily give her my undivided attention and then return to the game without missing a thing! You should go to: Direc.tv/ so that you can do this, too! I’m telling you guys—it’s really a relationship “game changer!”Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4148878566357823704.post-15713830260994469692010-02-27T13:55:00.000-08:002010-02-27T13:55:01.134-08:00Bookmark Your ProcessTake the time to bookmark EVERYTHING when you use Bum Marketing. Links, templates, checklists, etc. Don’t waste time trying to locate a link, or hope that it is still in your browser memory.

Set up your Favorites Folder in your browser. Include your links to your affiliate markets, online research tools, article directories, classified add directories, etc. Link them directly to the login page, not just the home page. Set them up numerically so you can work through them step, by step.
Shortcuts folder on your desktop leading to your tools. This will keep you from getting lost in your software options and keep you using only what you need. Place a shortcut to EVERY tool you use on the folder.
Website Templates. Lay a “beginning” site out and use it each time to rapidly make changes.
Checklists. Step-by-step processes for each BM element. An article writing example is for you below. The reason for a checklist is it keeps you focused and on track.

All of this little things are HUGE time savers. Even though you know your process, sometimes it is difficult to remember what step you are in.

Here is the way I set mine up…

My Favorites Folder:

I am able to move through the necessary links in my system quickly. They are arranged in order so I click and go.

In addition to the basic BM links I also have my possibilities links. These are community sites, forums, and pages I have noticed ranking high in my keyword areas. Then there are my profit links, which let me login to PayPal, Clickbank, etc to check the daily gross receipts.

My Shortcuts:
Anything you need for research & development should be in a shortcut folder for easy access. I went from “searching” for which tool I was looking for in my programs menu…

To this…

Only the software I use for BM is in this shortcut folder.

The easiest way to do this for those who may not be familiar is to:

Create a folder on your desktop or and label it something like “BUM Shortcuts.”
Click start and enter your programs area.
Click and drag the tool you want into your BUM folder on your desktop.

My Templates:

Yes, I’m still using FrontPage! I use simple layouts so this works. However, the results I’m getting from XSitePro are doing well, so I may make the complete switch for my marketing sites.

The template for each new site is already laid out. All I have to do is add info and change key words. XSitePro makes it easy to generate keyword related pages without them leaving the footprint of a page-gen software.

With each new site I just copy and paste the template into a new folder. I rename it to the keyword theme of the site.

MY Checklist:

Here’s my article writing checklist…

Keyword title that grabs attention.
List the 3-5 points or acrostic of importance.
Two paragraphs per point
250-350 words total
Linked keyword from within the article
Linked from resource Box

Make your OWN checklists that work for you. I absolutely LOVE Jimmy D. Brown’s checklists that he creates for List and Traffic. Yep, it’s an aff. Link.

That same type of checklist development makes your repeated effort move smoother.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4148878566357823704.post-89858147498867022252009-10-19T08:53:00.000-07:002009-10-19T08:53:00.474-07:00How Google Preferences WorkMany people breeze through Google umpteen times a day without bothering to set their preferences — or even being aware that there are preferences to set. A recent Internet study asked users whether they would rather set Google preferences or get bathed in chocolate syrup. Sentiment was overwhelmingly against setting Google preferences. But I’m here to tell you that the five settings on the Preferences page enhance the Google experience far more than the effort required to adjust them.

To adjust Google preferences, click the Preferences link on the Google homepage or go here.

If you set your preferences and later return to the Preferences page by manually entering the preceding URL, your browser displays an unadjusted Preferences page (without your settings). That’s because your Preferences page has a distinct URL with your preferences built in to it. For example, after selecting English as Google’s default language for your visits, the URL appears like this: www.google.com/preferences?hl=en

How Google remembers your preferences
When you set preferences in Google, the site is customized for you every time you visit it, as long as you’re using the same computer through which you set the preferences. To provide this convenience, Google must place a cookie (a small information file) in your computer. The site and the cookie high-five each other whenever you visit Google, and then the site appears according to your settings. For this system to work, the reception of cookies must be turned on in your browser.

Some people are militantly anti-cookie, claiming that the data files represent an invasion of computer privacy. Indeed, some sites plant cookies that track your Internet movements and identify you to advertisers.

The truth is, Google’s cookie is fairly aggressive. It gets planted when you first visit the site, whether or not you visit the Preferences page.
Once planted, the Google cookie records your clicks in Google and builds a database of visitor behavior in its search results pages. For example, Google knows how often users click the first search result and to what extent they explore results lower on the page. Google uses this information to evaluate the effectiveness of its service and to improve it.

As to privacy, Google does indeed share aggregate information with advertisers and various third parties and even publicizes knowledge about how the service is used by its millions of visitors. The key word is aggregate. Google’s privacy policy states that individual information is never divulged except by proper legal procedure, such as a warrant or a subpoena, or by individual consent. The privacy policy is published on this page.

I have no problem with the Google cookie or with cookies in general. The convenience is helpful, and I don’t mind adding to the aggregate information. It’s rather comforting being a data droplet in Google’s information tsunami.

Your best bet for reaching the Preferences page after first setting your preferences (when you want to readjust them, for example) is to use the Preferences link on the home page.
A single basic process changes one preference or several. Just follow these steps:
1. Go to the Preferences page. As mentioned, just click the Preferences link on the home page or go directly to www.google.com/preferences.
2. Use the pull-down menus, check boxes, and radio buttons to make your adjustments.
3. Click the Save Preferences button.
4. In the confirmation window (which merely says “Your preferences have been saved” and is unnecessary), click the OK button.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4148878566357823704.post-26247600214173461642009-10-10T08:40:00.000-07:002009-10-10T08:46:05.256-07:00KPI Business ProcessDefine Your Goals
The tactical goals for your project generally come down to a simple goal:

You want more ________. This may be leads for services, product sales, newsletter subscriptions, PDF downloads, views of a video, and so on.

Calculate Your KPIs
You need to establish the maximum amount you can pay for a customer and still be profitable.

An overview of the Key performance indicators (KPIs):

● Find the average order value (AOV). Divide the total revenue for the period by the number of orders to get the average value for an order. Some customers may buy a single item; other customers buy several items at different prices. Use these to find the average value of an order.
● Find the customer lifetime value (CLV). Multiply the AOV by the average customer’s number of annual purchases and length of customer lifetime (usually, several years) to get the CLV. This is how much the customer is worth to you in revenue.
● The question is then how much you’re willing to spend to acquire that customer (in other words, how much you invest to get a certain amount of revenue). In many companies, your finance team tells you that you must achieve a certain return in order to get the funding for your project. For example, for every dollar you spend, you should get four dollars in revenue. Use the PRR to calculate this.
● Find your close rate (CR), which is the number of leads you need to get customers. If you need 100 leads to get 20 customers, that is a 20% CR.
● Multiply the CPA by the CR to get the target CPL. This tells you how much you can spend to get a lead.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4148878566357823704.post-55207711502491773002009-09-15T10:14:00.000-07:002009-09-15T10:18:08.122-07:00Domain and HostingOne of the most important things you must do is choose a domain. It’s the name of your site so it has to be important. Something relatively short and that people can remember is vital. I’ve had the most success choosing a domain name which matches the niche my site will be about. For example, if I decided I wanted to make a website about cell phone chargers – I’d try and create a domain name which includes the main keywords external hard drives or something of the sort.

You don’t always have to do it this way, and you can still become the authority in your niche. I’ve seen it happen too many times and I’m sure you have too. But I’m going by my personal experiences.

Finding Hosting
I can’t stress the importance of having a reliable host. See it this way, how are you going to eat, if there is no food? How are you going to make money, if your sites are down constantly? A reliable host is definitely a very important aspect when it comes to making money online. If one of my sites go down I lose anywhere from $20-$50 that day. It adds up quickly.

Once you’ve gotten a domain, you need to find a reliable host. Niche blogging can become an addiction after awhile so find a company that let you host unlimited sites.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4148878566357823704.post-2451417601178258852009-07-01T08:31:00.000-07:002009-07-01T08:51:56.025-07:00Deep LinkingDeep links are links to internal pages of your website. Most people will aggressively build links only to their homepage … but this is definitely not the most natural looking linking profile.

Instead, I would recommend you split you inbound links between your home page and your internal pages. You should still have about 50% or so of the links point to the homepage, but spread the other links out across your other pages.

Natural Inbound Linking

This has a couple of benefits.

• This will result in your site getting deeply spidered which in turn will cause the search engines to find and index more pages faster.

• You will also start to notice that your internal pages will begin to rank better for their target keywords.

• I believe if you do this on newly launched sites you can keep yourself out of the “Google sandbox.”

Non Natural Linking from single IP address

Every website is assigned to an IP address. An IP address can also be thought of as the equivalent of a street address or a phone number for a computer or other network device on the Internet.

Just as each street address and phone number uniquely identifies a building or telephone, an IP address can uniquely identify a specific server or a website.

Here is an example IP Address:

123.456.789.000

A Block: 123
B Block: 456
C Block: 789
D Block: 000

When building your links you want to ensure you get links from a variety of IP sources, this will ensure you have the most natural looking backlink portfolio.

This may sound like a simple tip, but getting site wide links from a high PR website is not a good idea for this reason. You may get 1,000’s of links, but they are all from the same IP and will in short order hurt your rankings instead of improve them. This of course is mostly in Google, MSN may still give you some love.

Link Building Velocity

One of the things that I learned from reading the Google Patent is that Google pays attention to the speed at which you aquire your links.

This is why it is highly recommended that you build your links slowly and at a consistent velocity, or speed. The reason to do this is because a site that is naturally popular will consistently gain new links just from people wanting to share what they have found.

In order to duplicate this, we must resist what can be a very strong urge to acquire as many links as we can as fast as we can. I have personally found that building 10-20 quality links per day is a good number in the beginning. Then I eventually ramp this up as time goes by.

You may be asking yourself “How in the world do you build 10-20 links consistently?” “How do you find the time, and the energy, to do that everyday for all of your sites?”

Well, the short answer is: Blogs

What makes blogs so darn great is that search engines absolutely love them, and for good reason: They contain fresh content!

SO HOW DOES THIS HELP YOU?

Well, the short answer is blogs have a neat little feature called Trackbacks.

What Exactly is a Trackback?

Trackbacks were designed to enable webmasters to notify other webmasters that there is another web page with relevant information.

Getting Links Using Trackbacks

Getting Links Using Trackbacks

The beauty of the trackback system is that all of this linking can happen without human interaction, which increases the chance of getting the desired nother thing that is great about Trackbacks is that they use a standardized protocol across all blogging platforms.

Hopefully by now, you are beginning to see that Trackbacks can be an excellent way to build up your backlinks! Ifso, keep reading to discover what ifferentiates Trackbacks from Blog Comments, plus how you can exploit Trackbacks for maximum profit.

Trackbacks vs Comments
You may be thinking that a Trackback simply sounds like a comment added to a blog post. Well, not exactly.

Comments are there for people to speak their mind about a blog post’s content. But a Trackback on the other hand is designed to indicate there is more about this topic to be read on another website.

The fact is that a large percentage of bloggers are totally unaware of the trackback system installed on their website, and don’t fully understand how it works. And because of this most of the spam protection mechanisms have been focused on comments not trackbacks.

The links you can get from posting comments to a blog have a high probability of not passing any of its value. Trackbacks on the other hand still hold extreme value.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4148878566357823704.post-32213719229386094042009-06-20T07:59:00.000-07:002009-06-20T08:08:49.256-07:00Why You Should Join TwitterWhen you visit Twitter, you’ll soon see that it’s all about staying in touch. But this isn’t the kind of website that gives you free rein to say whatever you want and spend as long as you like on every post you make. Twitter is all about brevity. It’s all about giving people the basics without bogging them down with the ‘too much information’ syndrome.

140 CHARACTERS OR LESS
That’s it—that’s all you’ve got to play with on Twitter each time you want to get in touch with your followers and tell people what’s going on with your business and your life.

To put that into some kind of context, the title of an eBay auction can’t be longer than 55 characters so you’ve got less than three times that amount to make an impression on people.

You’ll soon find yourself becoming very adept at using the English language to get in touch in the shortest way possible.

So why do you need to join?
It seems like the whole world belongs to two groups—those who are thinking of joining Twitter, and those who already have. If you are in the first group you’ll want to know what all the fuss is about, so here are some reasons.

Quick and easy
We’re not just talking about how easy it is to actually join here; it’s all about the updates. We know how long—or short—a tweet can be, and that’s exactly what makes the site so accessible.
If you have got your own blog you’ll know what I mean.Blogs are a great way to get in touch with people and build a following over the course of time, but if you don’t write posts of a reasonable length you tend to feel like you’re shortchanging your readers. You almost get to the stage where you’d be better off not posting at all than posting a short message.

Twitter takes all that worry away instantly. You are limited by their 140 characters or less rule, so it’s super speedy to jump on and write a quick sentence to tell people what the latest development is in your business or on your website.

In fact, you’ll probably have to restrain yourself to keep from posting too often!

Getting connected
Twitter makes it easy to put yourself and your business in front of the kind of people you want to get in touch with. Every time you send a fresh tweet it will appear in the public timeline, which is basically a scrolling record of every single tweet sent out by all the members of Twitter all over the world.

There are plenty of other ways to get people to notice your presence on Twitter too, and good news is that the website gives you all the tools you need to draw attention to your profile.

But there are other ways to start using Twitter. You don’t just have to tell people what you are doing; people are also using the site to ask questions, ask for advice and even network with other like minded people with the intention of forming a
business relationship later on.

Are you starting to see that there is a hell of a lot of potential wrapped up in those 140 characters?

Staying in touch
Twitter isn’t just about letting people know what you are about and what you’re up to; it’s also about finding other like minded people and following them too.

Staying in touch couldn’t be easier as you can follow those Twitterers you are interested in and receive updates as and when they post a new update. Once you have found someone you like, all you need to do is hit the Follow button and wait for
updates as and when they post them.

Of course, the more people you can get to follow you the better. This book will help you to write the best updates you can and reach out to exactly the kind of people who will be interested in you and your business.

Raising your profile
If you’re looking for a quick and easy way to get your name out there and spread the word about what you’re doing, Twitter certainly fills that need. You can pick any username you like—as long as someone else hasn’t already taken in—so think about
using your business name if you are mainly going to use the site to promote your business.

It all helps to raise your profile and means that more and more people will find out about you.

Instant updates
While a conventional blog is a great tool for attracting readers and potential customers, those blog posts can get pushed to the bottom of your list of things to do.

Twitter isn’t like that. You only have to write 140 characters after all, and sometimes you won’t even need that many to tell people what’s going on right now.
You also stand a chance of getting more followers to a well maintained and thought out stream of tweets than you will to your regular blog—precisely because it’s short and sweet.

People don’t always have the time to keep reading a blog (even a very good one) so you can give people the choice of whether they want to read more or just stick with your tweets for now. Did I mention you can use URLs in your tweets if you want
to? Now there’s a thought . . .

A great marketing tool
This benefit should be obvious by now. It might take you a while to get the hang of how to put Twitter to good use for boosting your business, but this book will get you much closer than you would if you made the journey on your own.
An important point to note here is that you can customize your own personal Twitter page to include your own business colors and photo—so it’s super easy to upload your business logo and create a background that instantly identifies you and your business and makes you stand out from the crowd.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4148878566357823704.post-64901734751447053772009-06-08T10:29:00.000-07:002009-06-08T10:29:00.260-07:00Get Found OnlineGet Found Online: Search Engines
Consumers most frequently go to the search engines to research and purchase products and services. Is your website getting found by consumers looking for you?

Organic Search is Best
There are two kinds of search results: paid results and organic (or natural) results.
Paid results are those listings that require a fee for the search engines to list their link for particular keywords. The most widely used form of paid listing is Pay Per Click (PPC), where you pay each time someone clicks on the link in your advertisement.
The price increases with the competitiveness of the keyword.
Organic results are gathered by search engines’ web crawlers and ranked according
to relevance to search terms. This relevance is calculated by criteria such as extent of keyword match and number of links into that website. Ranking in the organic search results is better because not only is it FREE, but research shows that people click on the organic results 75% of the time and paid results only 25% of the time.

How Does Google Decide?
Google and the other search engines rank websites in search engine results pages according to relevance to the search terms. This relevance is calculated by looking at both on-page factors such as the content on your site and off-page factors in the form of inbound links to your website. Off-page factors are the biggest influencers in your website’s ranking in search engine results.

How To

STEP 1: Find Keywords
Search Volume – Given two different keyword phrases, optimize for the one with the larger number of searches.
Relevance – Choose keywords that your target market is using to describe and search for your products and services.
Difficulty or Competition – Consider your chances for ranking on the first page of Google for that keyword phrase. Look at the sites ranked in those first 10 slots,
their authority and relevance to search terms, and gage if you will be able to overtake them to secure a spot on that first page.

STEP 2: On-Page SEO
Place keywords in the page title, URL, headings, and page text.

Optimize your page description for maximum click-through-rate when your site ranks in Google searches.

Place keywords in other “invisible” places on your site, including meta-keyword tags and alt-text on images.

STEP 3: Off-Page SEO
Build more inbound links from other sites into yours. Each link serves as a recommendation or a reference to tell the search engines that your site is a quality site.

Build more links within context, i.e. those with valuable keywords in the link anchor text (the text that is hyperlinked to your site). Link anchor text provides context for the search engines to understand what your site is about.

Build more links from trusted websites. Just as references from well-respected friends and experts offer more value, so do links from trusted and well-respected websites.

Link-building tips:
• Submit your website to directories like the Yahoo Directory and Business.com

• Communicate with others in your industry through blogs and other social media

• Create compelling tools (such as an interesting calculator) and content

STEP 4: Measure & Analyze
Track number of inbound links, keyword rank over time and compared to competition.
Measure real business results: number of visitors, leads, and customers from SEO.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4148878566357823704.post-27326490409258232682009-06-06T10:24:00.000-07:002009-06-06T10:28:53.469-07:00Internet MarketingThe Internet has profoundly transformed the way people learn about and shop for products. Ten years ago, companies reached their consumers through trade shows, print advertising, and other traditional marketing methods. Today, consumers start their shopping experience by looking on the Internet, in the search engines, the blogosphere, and social media sites. In order to remain competitive, businesses’ websites need to be found online by the consumers already searching for the products and services that you sell. Businesses must get found online by the consumers searching for their products and services in the:

Search Engines

Blogosphere

Social Media

Outbound vs. Inbound Marketing
The Internet has changed the dynamics of the business world. For the past decades, marketers have used “outbound” marketing techniques such as trade shows and print advertising, where marketers push out a message far and wide hoping that it resonates with a few individuals.

These outbound marketing methods are becoming less and less effective for two reasons:
People are getting better at blocking out interruption-based marketing messages.
The average person is inundated with thousands of outbound marketing interruptions per day and is figuring out more creative ways to block them out, including caller ID, spam filtering, and on-demand TV and radio.
The Internet presents quick and easy ways for consumers to learn and shop.
Instead of flying to a trade show across the country, for example, a consumer can go the Internet to research and purchase products or services.

Today, consumers are going to the Internet to start their purchasing process. In order to remain competitive, businesses need to utilize “inbound” marketing techniques to “get found” by the consumers searching for their products and services online.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4148878566357823704.post-88344006781688715002009-05-23T10:55:00.000-07:002009-05-23T10:59:47.014-07:00Search Engine OptimizationSearch engine optimization is a gradual process of testing, measuring, and refining. Once you have optimized your Web site, it can take weeks to months before you start to see an increase in your site’s rankings for the keyword phrases you targeted.

Do not expect a top ranking in Google overnight or even within a few months. Achieving high rankings can take as long as 3 to 6 months. Once your rankings kick in from search engine optimization, it can be extremely rewarding, so it is worth the up front initial investment to do it now and do it right. If you need more immediate results, consider a paid search campaign (pay per click) while you wait for your search engine optimization results to grow.

Finally, search engines algorithms are constantly evolving. As a result, search engine optimization specialists must keep up-to-date on the latest developments in the field and modify their Web site and search engine optimization strategies accordingly.

Some tactics to avoid

Don’t concentrate all your efforts and budget into only one tactic
Becoming prominent online requires a balanced approach. Tactics like optimizing your Web site for popular keywords, sending optimized press releases, and even investing in the pay-per-click advertising packages will have some positive effect when used individually, but are most effective when combined. Remember to vary your tactics and evaluate them periodically to see if changes are needed.

Do not advertise what you cannot deliver
Using keywords on your site that don’t apply to your products or services may generate more traffic, but you generally won’t be able to make a sale from someone who expected to see something that you don’t offer. Your customers may feel deceived, which can lead to poor reviews and merchant rankings. If the deception appears to be intentional, search engines can penalize you by reducing your ranking or blocking your site entirely.

Do not attempt to deceive the search engines
Search engines don’t like sites that are flooded with keywords, use “hidden” text that is the same color as the background, or that automatically re-route traffic from a well-optimized page to another page. The more sophisticated engines can detect practices like these and block offending sites automatically, while other such offenses are often detected during a manual review of a site.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4148878566357823704.post-20051294274896924512009-05-08T14:09:00.000-07:002009-05-08T14:16:48.263-07:00Black Hat HostingFor Black Hat SEO, you need to choose the right hosting for your needs. There are special functions that need to be accessible on your server in order for your scripts and content generators to work.

Not only that but if you dip your toes into the darker side of things, it’s a good idea to be with a host that has a certain degree of tolerance for your activities. Happily a lot of outfits fit the bill and it’s always easy to find more.

There are 2 main types of hosting to be considered for different usages.

Paid Hosting

Paid hosting is to be used when you need full flexibility of your host. Different options offer different possibilities. If you need to run resource intensive scripts, you might consider getting VPS hosting or a Dedicated server.

Here are the criteria that should be considered “must haves” for black hat needs:

Wildcard subdomains

CHMOD 777

Fantastico

Cron Jobs

PHP fopen function

Shared Hosting

Shared hosting is the least expensive and least flexible option. On the other hand, it has its benefits too because it’s inexpensive and offers you a certain degree of protection against snooping search engine spies.

For example, if you have thousands of sites on a dedicated box and Google is able to identify that they are all auto-generated and all hosted on the same server, you will be looking at a mass ban and that will hurt. You can get away with this for a long time but shared hosting eliminates the problem in large part because your precious little sites are independently hosted.

Another advantage is that you can have more unique IPs. This is very useful when building site networks and or blog farms.

The important thing for now is to know that you can reinforce your site’s power by linking to them from your own sites but the link power will be greatly discounted if the sites are on the same hosting account and IP block. That’s why several smaller accounts can actually give you can advantage since you have variable completely unique link juice to bestow upon your targets.

VPS Hosting

VPS hosting refers to Virtual Private Server. In essence, you get a part of a server dedicated to you. That means that whatever server resources you pay for are guaranteed to be available to you when you need them.

Mass pinging, site growing and link distribution can all be resource intensive and VPS hosting becomes a good idea to run your scripts on once you reach a certain level. The two things to watch out for are the higher price tag (generally between 25 and 50 dollars per month) and also the chance of getting a mass ban from the search engines since your sites are the only ones on the server.

Most VPS providers will set you up with at least two unique C block IPs, with the possibility of buying more as you see fit for only a couple of dollars a piece.

Dedicated Hosting

Also known as dedicated server. This type of hosting allows you to rent an entire server for your needs. This provides the most resources and highest flexibility. It also requires some basic knowledge of servers and the costs can be quite prohibitive until you start earning interesting money.

This is ideally what you should aspire to. When you find yourself building 100s or even thousands of sites per day, you’ll find it extremely tiresome to buy and fill shared hosting accounts that will only support 50 domains a piece.

The same holds true for resource intensive scripts that are run from your server. If you are growing 5000 sites, generating content for them, pinging them and generating trackbacks, you need the power of dedicated hosting on your side.

Of course you should start at the level that represents your investment capabilities and the size of your operation.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4148878566357823704.post-14800096270718403952009-04-21T13:08:00.000-07:002009-04-21T13:14:39.629-07:00Video MarketingThe A to Z of using short promotional videos as the spearhead of a wider but basic (manageable) Social Media Marketing Campaign.

Is your sales funnel in place?
Are you clear what the purpose/goal of the campaign is?
Have you got the whole campaign planned?
How many videos will there be in the series or is it a one off promotion?

Setting Up a Basic Campaign

There are thousands of sites that you can target for your marketing campaigns. Getting readers to retweet your content allows the power of your network to take over and spread your message in the Twittersphere.
In other words: viral marketing.

Word of mouth or viral marketing is when your content is spread from person to person. Retweeting is the most powerful factor in something going viral on Twitter. It helps spread your message from one community to the next and has the ability to spread messages much faster than any other viral marketing tool.

It is free advertising and bloggers and business owners should do anything they can to encourage readers to retweet their content. Following steps can be taken to get more readers to tweet your content.

Announce your latest content
Always make sure to announce your latest content in a tweet, as that will make it easy for someone to “retweet” your message to their own network.

Make it easy for your readers to share
Remind your readers about Twitter on your site and make it easy for them to share your content on Twitter. You can use retweet plugin like TwitThis for this or you can create a simple link yourself. Use the following HTML link on your sitet:
http://twitter.com/home?status=
Put your tweet text after the equals sign. Remember to replace each space with “%20″.
When a reader clicks on this link, it will forward him/her to the Twitter home page
with the “What are you doing?” text box pre-filled with your message.

Start a Twitter competition
Two top-bloggers Shoemoney and John Chow have recently started Twitter competitions, where in order to enter a chance to win some prizes, you must retweet a message they have chosen. Looking at my own Twitter stream and searching the Twittersphere, it seems to be a very efficient way to spread your message and your link.

Be active on Twitter
Spend time on Twitter. The more active you are and the more followers you have, the more exposure your tweets will get and there will be a higher chance that someone will retweet your content.

Build relationships
You will never go wrong by talking to your target audience, other bloggers, and other power users on Twitter. By building relationships with people interested in your subject, you stand a better chance of getting your messages retweeted.

Write quality content
When someone retweets your tweet or your content it shows a high degree of content approval. Your tweet and your content was of such great quality and was so valuable to the person, that they decided to share it with their own Twitter network.
You must have useful, original and quality content. It is impossible to attract people to read your articles, if your articles are not useful. The same way, it is hard to get anyone to spread your link and retweet your message, if they do not enjoy and find your content valuable.

How do I track my retweets?
Simple! Use Twitter Search and search for the URL you have tweeted in your original tweet. This will show you all the retweets that used the same URL. Look at the number of followers for each person that has retweeted your link to get the number of the total exposure.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4148878566357823704.post-24464176189420767292009-01-23T12:31:00.000-08:002009-01-23T12:37:13.112-08:0027 Self-Promotion TipsOvercoming Self-Promotion Obstacles and Retuning Your Brain
1. If you have negative associations to sales and marketing, get busy curing yourself of “antimarketing-itis.”
2. Create new associations to self-promotion if the old ones don’t work for you.
3. Your brain is your greatest asset, so use it to adjust and fine-tune the way you think about and approach self-promotion.

Laying the Foundation and Offering Value
4. Realize that your music is a special gift that should be shared with the world.
5. Be driven by a burning desire to reach as many people as possible with your musical gift.
6. You have musical integrity because you are spreading the word about something you’ve created yourself that touches people and enriches their lives.
7. Self-promotion starts and ends with YOU. No one else understands your music and passion
more.

Understanding the ArtistArtist-Fan Relationship / Focusing on Fans
8. The artist-fan relationship is a two-way transaction. You get recognition, satisfaction and money. They get a valuable physical and emotional payoff.
9. You must understand how your music positively affects your fans – or what’s in it for them.
10. Focus on the benefit your music offers fans, not the category of music you play.
11. Avoid “middleman-atosis.” Focus on getting and keeping fans – not on the media, the industry, record labels, retail stores, distributors, etc.
12. Every morning, ask yourself: “What can I do today to connect with more fans?”

Reaching and Attracting Fans
13. Motivate fans to identify themselves and give you permission to show them more.
14. Create a brand identity by clearly communicating who you are, what you do and the unique
way you do it.
15. Use the VFW Hall Principle: Find at least one fan out of every thousand people.
16. Know who you are as a musician.
17. Be able to clearly describe your music in asfew words as possible.
18. Know who your fans are - based on the benefit you offer them.
19. Determine the best avenues to reach people most likely to become your fans.

Using Additional Fan-Building Tactics
20. You don’t have to be a household name to be successful.
21. Understand that fame and fortune are merely byproducts of being a good self-promoter consistently over the long haul.
22. Be consistent with your identity and selfpromotion message. Changing them too often will
confuse people.
23. Obliterate the “local” and “starving artist” mentality.
24. Cross-promote with other artists and combine your marketing impact.
25. Use testimonials and guarantees to help firsttime buyers give your music a try.
26. Exploit talk shows and position yourself as an expert related to your musical niche.
27. Do something every day to promote yourself and connect with fans.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4148878566357823704.post-75727712450119175882009-01-19T08:39:00.000-08:002009-01-19T08:48:05.911-08:00E-Zine Directories
http://thefreesite.com/Email_Freebies/Free_newsletters/index.html

http://www.cumuli.com/ezines/submit/

http://www.list-city.com/subform.htm

http://www.nerdworld.com/nwadd.html

http://www.topezineads.com/submit_ezine.html

http://amazines.com/

http://emailuniverse.com/

http://ezine-dir.hypermart.net/

http://ezinelinks.com/

http://ezine-marketing.com/

http://ezine-universe.com/

http://go-ezines.com/

http://gort.ucsd.edu/newjour/submit.html

http://inkpot.com/submit/

http://jogena.com/ezineform.htm

http://www.bestezines.com/submit/

http://www.ezineadsource.com/submit.htm

http://www.ezinelisting.com/

http://www.ezinesearch.com/search-it/ezine/ezine-add.html

http://www.ezinesplus.com/links/cgi-bin/add.cgi

http://www.jogena.com/

http://www.netterweb.com/submit/

http://www.newsletter-directory.com/

http://www.theideaspot.com/directory/register.html?pfm

http://www.advertisingknowhow.com

http://www.ezinesandnewsletters.com/

http://zinos.com

Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4148878566357823704.post-30106504478329871152009-01-09T07:42:00.000-08:002009-01-09T07:47:36.598-08:00MySpace MarketingMyspace is the most visited site on the internet. This gives its member profiles a very powerful tool. The first place you must post your links is on your own profile. I use the “About Me” box to talk about my products a little, but focus on
talking about you. The SEO benefit won’t change if you become a spammer.
You can use their search function to find others that deal with your niche and comment on their profiles. Make sure that the member profile you’re posting on allows html, or you’ll look like an idiot.
Myspace groups are a great place to post your links, as well. Respond to posts related to what you know, with good information and you’ll get traffic from it too.
There are many other social networks, but my favorite is Stumbleupon. Following the same tactics above will work great for Stumbleupon. Your profile page can contain links to your website. There are groups as well. Stumbleupon lets you drive targeted traffic to your websites by submitting them to a category and allowing other “Stumblers” to wander through to your page.
MyBlogLog is becoming one of the most used blogging tools online. Most major internet marketers are using it on their blog. Their widget actually shows pictures of who has been reading your blog. Again, this site consists of the same
types of interaction as Myspace. There are communities and your own profile page. This gives you the ability to gain great exposure for your blog.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4148878566357823704.post-21443415406437300112008-12-03T14:11:00.000-08:002008-12-27T14:17:48.742-08:00What Buyers Are Looking For
Quite simply, if you provide something that website buyers are looking for your site is going to sell quickly for big bucks. Some of the things that buyers are looking for may only take a few minutes to include and some cost a few dollars to implement but these little changes will make a big effect on your final sale price.

Images and graphics – I have got to tell you that I’m not a designer – I don’t even have Photoshop on my PC. I use the standard Microsoft Paint tool as embarrassing as it is to say.

But graphics can make a considerable change to the value of a website. When I’m building a site that I don’t plan selling I try avoid using templates with graphics because I know very simple HTML sites without graphics do very well. But buyers are looking for something different, they are often looking for a site which is pleasing to the eye no some simple content site.

Buyers love little images next to the articles like this to make the pages look a little bit more professional and clean looking. I bought some open source images from…

http://www.stockxpert.com

They cost me $5. I then spent 5 minutes adding the images to the site and uploaded everything and now the site looks 100% better than it did before. It makes it look like there is a lot more content on the site as well which is a great little bonus.

I think this little change added $50 to the value of this site. 10 times my investment of $5 for the images. Not bad is it? These are small changes which bring in big results.

Content, Content, Content – Yep, it was obvious that I was going to talk about content wasn’t it? Without content your sites are worthless. If your not willing to spend a small amount of time or money investing in unique content then I want you to cancel your membership here right now, your wasting both mine and your time.

Unless you have been living under a rock for the last few years you will know that unique content is valuable. Without it your not going to get much money for your site unless it’s making big bucks every single month. The more unique content you have on your site the more money your going to make.

I’m writing this now while listening in on a webinar that JD Swanson and Brian McElroy are doing on instant cash. A moment ago JD said that he has a formula which he uses in his business… I hope he doesn’t mind me sharing with you.

Unique content + a little revenue = BIG Profits

The man is a genius, I couldn’t have said it better myself! That brings me on to my next point which is revenue.

Revenue – This is not as important as you might think. But if your going to take your site selling to the next level it’s certainly something that you need to think about. Now, over 70% of the sites that I sell are making less than a $1 a day so revenue certainly isn’t essential.

However, if your site is making revenue, even just a few cents a day you will instantly increase the value of your site.

Typically people say that 10-15 times monthly revenue is standard. I like to get more than that for my sites because they are the best. I know exactly what site buyers want and provide them with that. People are willing to pay extra for something that fits there needs. I like to get 2 years revenue and sometimes much more if the site is new.

Search Engine Friendly – Site buyers are a pretty cleaver bunch of people, lots of them know what the search engines like and don’t like. Make your sites as search engine friendly as possible. Just keep things basic, unique content will provide the basis of the whole process, include keywords in your title tag and H1 tag, try and buy a keyword domain, use alt tags in your images. Google and Yahoo in particular like this kind of content.

If you think I’m talking a different language you should checkout the SEOMoz SEO guide which you can get for free of charge on there website.

http://www.seomoz.org/article/beginners-guide-to-search-engine-optimization

I don’t recommend you mess around to much learning about the latest search engine changes and algorithms (is that how you spell that?) because that isn’t really going to take advantage of all of your time. Learn the basics and use them.

Support – You would be surprised how many times I get asked support questions about the websites I sell. Often people who are technical minded worry that they will buy a site and not be able to set it up and make changes.

In your sales listing or wherever you decide to sell your site tell your buyers that you will provide basic support and help them transfer the site over to there own server. People will pay extra for a site because they know that you will be there to help them unlike seller X who sells a site and doesn’t help his customers.

If they ask you for support help them in anyway you can. Maybe even write a short report on how people can transfer sites to there own sever including links to pages and sites that will give them more advice than you can provide. Most people won’t need any help or support at all but the ones that do you should spend some time helping and over delivering.

That’s everything that I do to give buyers what they want. Not just any traffic, but quality, targeted
traffic.
There are literally millions of frustrated website owners waiting endlessly for that
elusive flood of visitors to their websites.
Let me ask you one question. How many potential visitors are finding YOUR
website? More websites are created each day leading to an upsurge of over
crowding, and all are in competition for the coveted visitors.
The Internet is a treasure house of information. It is peddled in all forms. Smart
marketers soon realized that there is only one sure way to convince the search
engines not to shut them down, and that is to give only Quality Content! Not only
do the search engines love content, but visitors do too, and visitors buy.
So how do you harness the power of content? Specifically, how do you attract
traffic using content?
There are 22 time-tested surefire ways to get all the traffic you need.
Towards the end of this report, I've also included some special unconventional
traffic generation methods, which can complement the 22 techniques.

2 22 Traffic Generating Techniques Explained
Before planning and executing your assault plan to capture that elusive targeted
traffic, you need to know one thing first:
Tracking your traffic is crucial!
It is absolutely necessary to track the traffic from various sources. If not, you are
shooting in the dark, spending your valuable time, effort and money in the wrong
traffic source.
You need to know exactly which traffic source is bringing you results, and which is
not. You can shift your focus to those that are bringing you traffic, and improve or
even drop those that are not.
There are two ways to track your traffic campaigns:
a) Using an online web-based service such as Clickalyzer, where you pay a
monthly subscription. Among the online ad tracking services, Clickalyzer is
one of the most popular options.
b) Using an ad tracking software installed on your server, a one-time investment
with no monthly fees. The one I'm using and would highly recommend is
Adtrackz . You have more control, and you can do split testing, cloaking,
dynamic code creation, plus a host of other features and benefits.
Set up your tracking / ad tracking system first, before you launch head on into your
traffic campaigns.

2.1 Pay Per Click
PPC is advertising provided by the search engine providers (Google, Yahoo! and
others) where you PAY for top placement. Their strategies for placement differ
slightly.
In either case, you pay. Especially for a newly launched site, it is a quick way to get
your traffic flowing – but it is not the cheapest. You could spend far more than is
profitable for your business if you don’t know what you’re doing.
Despite some people dismissing PPC advertising for its "higher" cost, it is still
widely used by many top Internet marketers, as the traffic is highly targeted (which
depends on how well your PPC ad is written).
Use proven advertising copy words like “how to…” “learn”, “save”, “free”
and “easy” in your description. Create curiosity and provide enough specific
information or you will attract under-qualified traffic.
Figure out the statistics of how many customers you need to make a sale. Based on
that figure you can work out how much you are willing to spend to attract
customers through pay per click
I'd like to share 4 golden tips that many people are not aware of, which cost them
dearly in the PPC game:
Tip #1
Make sure that your ad has the right keywords so that you can drive laser traffic to
your site. Always include all 3 variations: broad match, phrase match, and exact match.
This will triple your keyword list, but more importantly, you can capture lower cost
clicks.

Tip #2
Don't lump all your keywords into one big group. Divide into tightly-related groups of
10-30 similar terms, and design ads matching the common words in the keyword
group.
Tip #3
Always have two ads for each campaign group, to allow split testing. Vary only one
word between the ads. Monitor their click-through rate (CTR). Delete the one with
lower CTR, and write a new one. This way, your ads are continually improving in
CTR.
Tip #4
Some people spend top dollars just to attain the top position in their ad listing.
Statistically, it is found that No. 2 or 3 position get better sales conversion than
the coveted No. 1 spot. Interesting huh?
If you have had some experience using PPC advertising, the above tips should make
some sense to you.
There are many more PPC strategies and tricks which cannot be covered in this
report, but there's a Definitive Guide on Google Adwords by Perry Marshall you
should consider getting.
Other than Google and Yahoo, you should also not neglect the smaller ones, like
Kanoodle and others (there are more than 500 PPC search engines). These still give
you some traffic, and usually at a lower cost.
To see a comprehensive list of PPC search engines, you can visit
PayPerClickSearchEngines.

2.2 Search Engine Optimization
Traffic that comes from search engines seems an overwhelmingly attractive option, as
it is free. Well, it's not really "free", as you need to spend considerable amount of your
valuable time tweaking your websites to get the results you want. Additionally, you
are at the mercy of search engines, and their frequent algorithm change can knock you
out of business overnight.
There are a lot of companies working ‘behind the scenes’ to help website owners get
plenty of traffic from the natural search engine listings. Natural listings mean the
search engine has ranked you according to the value it believes your site will offer
someone searching for a specific word or phrase.
Understanding exactly what the search engines want to see when ranking sites
requires knowledge of the algorithms. These algorithms change all the time.
Be careful here. Don't ever rely solely on SEO to bring you traffic. You need to
utilize all forms of traffic sources, not just SEO, if you want to sustain your online
business.
Broadly speaking, there are two main areas for SEO:
a) On-page optimization
b) Off-page optimization
On-page Optimization
On-page refers to having your primary keyword (or keyphrase) in the meta tags (title,
description), as well as in the content (3-7% keyword density). Don’t try to optimize
more than 2 keywords per web page. Stick to one primary keyword per page if you
can.
This used to be enough to get a high SEO ranking, but is no longer so. More emphasis
is now placed on off-page factors.

There are actually a lot to cover on SEO (on page and off page), and here's a good free
book you can read: SEO Made Easy by Brad Callen.
Off-page Optimization
This generally means getting the right kind of incoming links (or backlinks) to your
website, with your keyword in the anchor text. It can be acquired through article
submission, press releases, reciprocal link exchange etc.
Just remember this:
"You do not need to beat the search engine, you just need to
beat the number-one-ranked website"
Simply put, you need to "spy" on the competition, and do one step better than them.
One powerful software that can do this is SEO Elite, which focuses on improving
your off-page factors.
2.3 Keyword Research
Keywords have always been important to search engines. In fact understanding and
doing keyword research is key to many successful websites. However, filling a
page with keywords will NOT get you a good rating with the search engines, but
writing content that uses popular search words WILL.
By researching the popular keywords for your topic or product, you can create
information that places these words into the background of an article then simply
optimize each page for a separate keyword that you wish to use.
There are numerous keyword research software available, but the one that stands
out is The Dowser, which has a free version. Another free and popular
Windows-based keyword software is Good Keywords.

2.4 Web Pages
Websites need pages. The more, the better, but having a website filled with
keyword-filled pages, or styled templates will not impress the search engines or
your visitors. Instead -- create a feeding ground for them. .
Slowly but steadily adding pages of real content will help your site attract the
search engine spiders on a regular basis. This is the ‘tortoise wins the race’
philosophy.
One way is to add articles regularly. You can find relevant articles from article
directories, and put on your website (with the author's resource box intact of
course). Some of the major article directories are:
• Article City
• Article Emporium
• Article Factory
• Article Hub
• Content Desk
• Ezine Articles
• Free Content
• Go Articles
• Hotlib
• iSnare
• Reprint Articles

2.5 Newsletters
Have you heard that ‘the money is in the list’? One guess as to which list?
Your SUBSCRIBER list. Yes, with close to 80% of sales taking place after the
first 5 to 7 contacts it is imperative that every website has a newsletter when
possible.
But to have a newsletter… again you must have content! So start putting some
ideas together and write those newsletters.
Your subscribers will judge you based on the value of the content you send. If you
only advertise without giving beneficial information for free, your subscribers are
history.
Develop a series of brief, but informative articles. In fact, it is increasingly popular
to have just a short email message, with an introduction to direct them to your site
for further information. Getting your subscribers back to your site should be the
primary objective. This also helps your email get through the aggressive email
spam filters which sometimes traps long emails.
Having spent time building your autoresponder messages, you need a reliable
autoresponder service, like the top notch Aweber. It is the autoresponder service of
choice for many Internet marketers.
2.6 Free Reports - Viral Marketing
Free reports are also a great way to attract subscribers to your newsletter. These
reports can spread quickly (on related websites) with the link you placed within it
tempting them back to YOUR website. You get the traffic that follows!
Include as a subscription bonus to entice hesitant visitors to sign up for your
newsletter.
Identify a problem, or question that might attract your visitors. Write a two or three
page report that gives a partial solution. Indicate your product or service as part of
the solution, but do not necessarily make it sound like an advertisement.
Example: ‘Men love camping trips, but women hate them with good reason, and
oddly enough -- it is for the same reason’.
To create your report you can provide more details to your service than is listed on
your web page (ie: ‘Find out how YOU can save money on home repairs with this
special report’). You might also try one that warns of a danger (‘Are you putting
YOUR family at risk? Find out with this special report’).
Send the report via an autoresponder or manually as soon as possible so they
remember to open their email.
2.7 Submission To Article Directories
By writing short articles on the topic related to your website, you can offer these
articles by submitting them to an article directory.
These directories get spidered by the search engines on a regular basis because of
the high value of the content they provide. If the search engines have not yet picked
you up this is the easiest way to get them to find you.
When others make use of your articles you will get the credit as the author along
with a link to your website. Not only will you gain visitors, but also you will benefit
from the backlinks that are created. And make no mistake here – those links are
gold in terms of search engine ranking.
To get the most of your article submission, here are some article writing strategies
you can use:
a) Start keyword research. Choose a keyword with enough searches (minimum 100
searches per day), and less competition (< 1million, using quotes).
b) Sprinkle the keyword (3-7% density) throughout the article. Start article title with
the keyword if possible.
c) In resource box, write some appealing stuff, with a link (anchored with your
keyword) to your website. You should also include a non-hyperlinked URL (just
in case a particular article directory does not allow HTML linking).
d) Spend time to craft your article title. Your title is like a mini-headline. The title of
your article should be short, simple, and offer a main benefit. Some good examples
are "Quick And Easy Way To ….", "What You Always Wanted To Know
About …."
e) Have an interesting opening paragraph. This will spur the reader to read further,
hopefully to the end. You can use a surprise opening, relating a personal
experience, an anecdote, or a story.
Why do you need to put keyword in your article? With that one keyword per article,
you are making use of the high pagerank of the article directories (or other sites if your
article is picked up and re-published). Your article will appear high in the search
results for that keyword, giving you an extra visitor boost.
When your article is ready, you can submit to the article directories one by one, or you
can make better use of your valuable time by using two submission methods:
i) Use an online article submission service. There are close to 10 article submission
services, with fees varying widely. One of the more cost effective ones is Article
Marketer, which submits your article to numerous sites, and does not place a limit
on the number of articles you can submit.
ii) If you do not like the idea of a recurring cost, you can invest in an article
submission software, like Article Post Robot. This software stands out above the
rest as it allows you to choose to submit in semi-automatic or fully automatic
mode.

2.8 Article Announcement Lists
Article announcement lists are similar to article directories. Your article will be
placed before an audience of webmasters and publishers who may choose to use it.
The advantage of article announcement lists is that the members sign up to receive
new articles by email. Your article will be directly sent to members who have
subscribed to receive it. Yahoo has a ‘Groups’ area where you can browse the lists
and sign up to receive announcements. This creates the perfect audience for your
material.
For Yahoo Groups, if you do not want your inbox to be flooded by other people's
articles, make sure you select "No email - I'll read messages on the web site".
Note: For article submission using Article Marketer or Article Post Robot, the
feature of submitting to mailing groups are included in both methods.
2.9 Submission To Directories
People often confuse directories and search engines. Search engines use spiders or
robots to index websites, while directories use people. Directories tend to have smaller
but cleaner indexes.
Directories are no longer a primary source of traffic. They are, however, an excellent
source of targeted traffic, in addition to having valuable backlinks from authority
sites.
Yahoo Directory, Ask Jeeves and DMOZ are among the major directories. Some
directories are free to submit, some are paid. For a list of web directories, Best Web
Directories provides both free and paid listing, with additional information about each
directory.
Some directory editors reject sites they consider to be of poor quality. When
submitting to directories, make sure your site is completely functional, and follow
submission guidelines carefully.
Choose the most appropriate category for your site. Choose subcategories over
top-level categories. If you submit to a top-level category even though appropriate
subcategories are available, there's a good chance your submission will be denied.
The website description posted with your URL is a big factor in how your site will
rank once it's listed in the directory. It is very important to do this right the first time. If
you put too much promotional jargon in your description or make it too long, for
example, the editors are sure to change it.
If you want to make better use of your time rather than to submit manually, the
software I use is Submit Equalizer, which submits to multiple directories in a few
clicks. As with all automation tools, use it responsibly so that your submissions will
have the highest chance to get accepted..
2.10 Submission To Relevant Websites
Another beneficial use for articles is to offer them directly to sites you would like to
share readers with. This is not only a great way to gain credibility for your topic,
but will provide useful backlinks all over the Internet. Sometimes you can even
get links from sites that would not agree to a formal link exchange request.
2.11 Forums
Forums – groups of Internet users that discuss common interests online. They are a
fantastic way to share information. Search for a forum that discusses something
related to your website. Be sure to spend time ‘lurking’.
That means reading the posts and becoming familiar with the style of discussion
and written (and unwritten) rules. Most forums forbid spamming. What is
considered spam by one forum is perfectly acceptable by another, but blatant
advertising rarely is appreciated.
In most cases you can either post a link to your website in your signature, or share
information that arouses questions about your website from other posters.
Some forums permit you to post your articles. If you are unsure about their policies,
be careful, or you risk upsetting some forumers. Offering free advice can
sometimes be enough to establish credibility, and if you have a blog, or other
non-marketing site you may be able to send traffic to that first, then encourage
visitors to visit your website from the blog.
2.12 Reciprocal Linking
Are you creating reciprocal linking pages to impress the search engines? Create a
separate page for each link category and write 200-400 words of content on that
subject. Offering your recommended links at the end will make you a source for
information… rather than just a bunch of links.
Some may argue that reciprocal linking is losing its effectiveness due to over-use
and abuse by some people, but if done properly, it is still a good way to get
backlinks as well as occasional visitors who click on your link.
Maintaining reciprocal link pages can be time consuming, as well as periodically
checking whether the other parties are still linking back to you. There are two link
exchange software I use:
i) A free version is the Link Management Assistant (by Duncan Carver).
Being free, you have to bear with some limitations and conditions.
ii) Another neat piece of software that I use is Link Machine. This software
installs on your server, up 3 sites. Comparatively, many other link
management software only allows a single site per licence. There are many
interesting features, such as automatic link exchanges among Link Machine
users. This feature alone has saved me lots of time in looking for quality
link partners. Link Machine also allows you to import any existing link
pages you may have.
Be careful about getting involved in link farms or certain link programs, which
promise thousands of links in a few minutes after you insert some code on your
website. This WILL almost certainly get you delisted from the search engines.
It's just not worth the risk.
2.13 Classifieds
Originally touted as one of the best methods to get traffic. However, the invasions
of ads by Internet marketers nearly flooded this market. Even so, using classifieds
can still send you some traffic, and will also help your site get listed in the search
engines. Use keyword phrases in your ad, and include a hyperlink. To be effective
what you do is simply place the readers needs within your ad. Become a problem
solver. Just like article writing, crafting a good keyword-rich classified ad also
ensures your ad appears in the search engine results, not just at the classified ad
sites.
2.14 Newsletter Exchange
Are you having success with your newsletter? Perhaps you’d like to approach
another website owner and offer to write a short article for his subscribers – or to
exchange articles. If the newsletter is complimentary to their market, they should
be interested.
2.15 Publish An E-course
Create a multi page tutorial that can be given to subscribers, or given away by other
businesses. Like a report, the e-course can be offered as a freebie. The readers
receive valuable tips and information all while being directed to your site at the end
of each lesson.

2.16 Affiliate Programs
One of the major traffic generators is by recruiting an army of affiliates. These
affiliates work for you for "free", and you pay them only when they make a sale
from the visitors they sent to your site.
The use of affiliates is how Marlon Sanders managed to get 1 in 102 English
speaking Internet users in the world to visit his websites. Now that's 2.8 million
visitors! I read this book - it's good stuff if you plan on building affiliates to market
your product/service.
Help your affiliates drive traffic to your site by giving them letters or reports to post
on their sites or in their newsletters. Your affiliates are also in need of free content
to provide to their customers.
2.17 Your Blog And RSS
Creating a blog that is related to your business or niche will allow you to attract an
audience that may not respond to a sales page. Providing content and news about
your topic with hyperlinks to your various articles, or sales pages, is an indirect
way to send traffic to your site. You can set up a free blog at Blogger.
There have been cases of people losing their Blogger accounts (and the blogs they
painfully built up), as Blogger goes about cleaning up their blogs due to blog
spamming. In the process, innocent blogs get deleted as well.
Another alternative to Blogger is the free Wordpress, which is just as popular.
Building and maintaining one or two blogs is simple enough, but if you want to
build a network of blogs for interlinking purposes, there are tools which can help
make this task easier.
I use Blog Auto Publisher to post to all my blogs, perform scheduled posting, post
from RSS and news feeds, as well as a host of many useful features. In this way, I
can maintain a network of fresh updating blogs, with little work on my part.
Working together with Blog Auto Publisher is Wordpress Elite, another software I
use as a centralized blog management system, from which I can configure and
manage multiple blogs.
With these two powerful software, you can have a network of blogs, constantly
updated, with little work on your part.
RSS and Blog Directories
Once your blog is up and running with some substantial posts, you should consider
submit your blog's RSS feed to blog/RSS directories to get some targeted traffic.
What is your blog's RSS feed, you may ask. A fanciful word, but actually quite
simple:
• For Blogger, it is "yourdomain.blogspot.com/atom.xml"
• For Wordpress, it is "yourdomain.com/feed/
There are numerous blogs/RSS directories you can submit to, and I use RSS
Announcer software to make it so much easier.
To get a free copy of RSS Announcer, please use the link at the beginning of this
report and visit my multiple-revenue website for details.
2.18 Other Peoples’ Blogs
Your content can be just as valuable to other bloggers who may have a difficult
time finding content to share with their readers. Offering to submit an article to a
related blog can be a great way to drive traffic to your site with the use of a
hyperlink in your author credit.

2.19 Use Tell-A-Friend Script
When you have good content on your website, and your visitor wants to spread the
word around, you can make it easier with a tell-a-friend form. With a click on your
tell-a-friend link, they can refer your site to their friends. One such free service I use is
Tell-A-Friend Generator.
2.20 Tag and Ping (Social Bookmarking)
This is a relatively recent strategy. It basically revolves around social bookmarking
websites, that allow its users to bookmark their favorite pages of websites, and
sharing their bookmarks with others. The more people bookmarking a particular
web page, the more "votes" it gets.
When bookmarking a web page, a user can also input tags (keywords) for that web
page, and this site is pinged at the ping servers, hence the phrase tag and ping.
So how does one get traffic to his own websites? Well, there has been a flurry of
webmasters submitting their own websites to these bookmarking sites. As the top
sites are high traffic sites, there will be visitors from these sites, especially if your
site is deemed as "popular" by the number of people bookmarking them.
The benefits of bookmarking your own sites have been the subject of much debate.
While targeted traffic is one of the benefits, the acquiring of backlinks and
pagerank passing are not so clear. Some of the bookmarking sites have imposed a
"no follow" tag (which means the search engine robots will not follow through to
your site), effectively cutting off the pagerank passing. Some of the sites do provide
a direct link to your web pages, so you can enjoy some benefit of backlink and
pagerank.
The tag and ping strategy can be abused, and will be abused. No one knows for sure
how long it will remain effective. There's nothing wrong with submitting their own
web pages, as long as they don't abuse by spamming the social bookmarking sites
with thousands of their own spam pages.
The top sites are Delicious, Technorati and Furl. More are springing up in
popularity and traffic, and there are even available software to install your own
social bookmarking sites. One free software is Scuttle (download from
http://www.sourceforge.net/projects/scuttle )
There are resources to find out more about social bookmarking and how you can
derive maximum benefit from it. One such affordable resource is Tagging Secrets,
where the concept of social bookmarking is described in simple terms, with a
healthy dose of screenshots. It also reveals a little known strategy where you can
literally get instant targeted traffic within minutes of writing a blog post. A quick
action guide is also included, to provide step-by-step instructions to put the newly
learned knowledge into practice.
2.21 Press Release
If you think you are starting to grasp the importance of content, you are going to be
amazed when you see its full potential.
Press releases should become an important part of your marketing. What do you
need to create a press release? Fresh content. That’s it. Press releases are notices to
the media about newsworthy events, accomplishments or information. Creating a
press release to announce a new product, results of a poll, or related news event
results free advertising in the media.
To create your own press release, go to a website like PRWeb (free and paid for
better exposure) and read the releases that are posted there. When you are familiar
with the format you can write your own and submit it. Just avoid advertising copy,
and be sure to highlight some new thought or an angle to make your press
release newsworthy. If you want to you can hire a press release writer, or have
your release reviewed by a PRWeb specialist for a fee.
Alternatively, you may want to invest in an automation software called Press
Equalizer which I use to simplify the submission of press releases to many press
release sites. Through the software, I also learnt the correct way of drafting a good
press release.

2.22 Newspaper
Press releases can work just as well in your local paper as they do in online news
websites. Submit your press release to the editor or the writer for the section of the
newspaper you want to target.
You could also try to submit your own column, as a free form of advertising.
Smaller newspapers may find this idea more appealing, but larger newspapers
would not be likely to. They have their own staff.

3 All About Content
Some of the SEO methods used in the past that website owners were happy with
was to fill pages with keywords that attracted search engines. But this also turned
visitors off. Too often the content was completely garbled. Now the search engines
are learning to ‘read’ like humans.
If the content has too many keywords and unlikely sentence structures, the search
engine might consider that the site to be manipulated, and not list it.
If you want a site that attracts search engines AND keeps people on your website,
you need to have relevant, informative, well written information . However, when
using methods that are designed to attract search engines, the content still needs to
be keyword-rich.
Generally, the content you provide must satisfy the following criteria:
Keyword-Rich Content
Your traffic will depend largely on your choice of the right words, by using one of
the keyword research software discussed earlier in the report.
Unique Content
Currently it has been stated that the search engines don’t like duplicate content.
If you are using a template site you will need to change a significant amount of the
information in order to create a site that the search engines will consider as unique.
You can do this by changing your web page title, meta tags, introducing paragraph
and by inserting links, or editorial blocks within the article’s body.
If you have private label articles, you'd need to modify it to make it "unique". You
can either spend time to do it manually, or use a software called Content Rewriter
Pro which I use to modify thousands of my PLR articles in a short time.

Informative Content
Getting traffic is not valuable to you if people leave your site right away. Providing
informative content is not only more beneficial to your visitors, it is important to
‘smarter’ search engines, which also pick up on the content.
Relevant Content
Keeping to a theme will help your website both with the search engines and
visitors.
Amount of Content
Keep information pages short (400-800 words) or the search engines may not
‘read’ all the way through. Creating many web pages and optimizing the content
and the web page will allow you to target more keywords then if you try to cram
them all onto one page.
Be careful when using automation software which creates hundreds or thousands of
web pages automatically. Creating content for each page is important and many of
these programs create cookie-cutter sites that are simply keyword-rich without any
real content. With many individuals using the same programs the search engines
can read the ‘finger print’ and may consider the web pages to be invalid for
inclusion in the search engine.

4 But Where Can You GET Content?
There are three main sources for you to get the content you need.
• Write it Yourself
• Hire a Ghostwriter
• Get articles with private label rights
There are pros and cons to each source, but by using a combination of sources you
can accumulate a well-rounded body of content for your use. Here are some of the
points to consider when using the different methods for creating content.
Remember, what works best for you will depend on your level of writing ability,
what the content will be used for, and your budget.

4.1 Write it Yourself
Writing content yourself is not only the least expensive method, but allows you to
inflect your personality into the content. This can be very useful in attracting a
loyal customer, especially through newsletters and articles.
If you are planning on writing your own content, where do you start?
Create a Draft
By preparing a draft you will not need to worry about whether you remembered to
cover all of the points that you originally wished to covey. You may only need a
few words or brief sentences for your draft. They are easy, but vital.
Make it Clear
When you’ve finished your first draft you will need to read it over from start to
finish and make notations of areas that need clarification or rewording.
Accuracy and Proofreading
When your writing is finished it is important to check it for accuracy. Are dates,
statistics or facts accurate? Are you using proper spelling, especially for names and
places? People do appreciate their name spelled properly.
4.2 Hire a Ghostwriter
When you need more than just a little assistance, whether it’s because of time
restraints, lack of writing abilities, or with knowledge of a topic you aren’t familiar
with, you should consider hiring a ghostwriter.
Ghostwriters are valuable when you need quality content on topics that are easily
researchable by the ghostwriter. You may also find ghostwriters who are experts in
their own field but hire themselves out as writers as a side business.
When hiring a ghostwriter you should make a ‘work-for-hire’ agreement.
This means that the writing cannot be resold to another buyer, or used by the
ghostwriter for other purposes.
Ghostwriters can be found through freelance websites like Elance. Depending on
your requirements and bulk volume, you can get it done for as low as $5 per article.
If you regularly need access to a variety of information you can use a service such
as InfoGoRound, which gives you access to a large database of articles written by
ghostwriters. This service also permits you to request articles on specific topics
that one of their professional writers may undertake to write for you.
4.3 Get PLR Articles
There have been new membership sites springing up like mushrooms, which offer
private label articles for a song, sometimes as low as 15 cents per article. The flip
side is you need to modify the articles so that it is "unique".
One such membership site worth mentioning is Private Rights Articles, which
provides high quality articles in several niches. For each niche, there is an
accompanying keyword list containing about a thousand keywords (sourced from the
ever reliable WordTracker) for that niche. A header graphics file (in psd format) is
also included, for people who wants to create little niche websites using the articles.

5 Special Traffic Generation Methods
As promised at the outset, here are some special unconventional methods to get you
fast traffic.
5.1 Expired Domain Traffic
Traffic Bridge is one of the largest expired domain traffic sellers, which redirects
human visitors from those domains which are already expired.
If you need large amounts of traffic at a low price for certain purposes, and does
not need to be targeted traffic, then this is something you can consider. Again, as
expected from such redirection, the traffic is highly untargeted, and can even be of
foreign languages.
Step 1: Register an account at: Trafficbridge Register. (not many people know
about this link).
Step 2: Make your order at Trafficbridge Order (use NORM25DISC as the coupon
code for 25% discount, select "Normal" type).
After the discount, you can purchase in multiples of about US$6 per 10,000
visitors.
5.2 Grab Those High Traffic Expired/Deleted Domains
Domains are constantly expiring for various reasons. Some of the domains have
regular traffic, a certain number of backlinks, and some with high pagerank. These
soon-to-be-expired domains are up for grabs, and you can build websites that are
already listed in the search engines with ready visitors.
Websites such as http://www.expiredtraffic.com/ or http://www.deleteddomains.com/
actually do all the legwork and let you have a comprehensive list. They used to be free,
but now require some fees. Other sites are http://www.snapnames.com/ and
http://www.snapcheck.com/ , which list the expiring domains, and allow you to
"reserve" a specific domain name, often for a fee. You can do a search for other
services that list expiring domains.

6 So Where Do You Go From Here?
Now, don't go away thinking you can generate all the traffic you need overnight.
You need to build and cultivate the traffic sources over time, and the best way to go
about doing this is to develop a daily or weekly traffic activities plan.
The key is to work smart, not just work hard, and utilize whatever productivity
tools (whether free or paid) that you can get your hands on. The links you see in this
report are solid recommendation of the tools (free and paid) I use myself.
Your time is your most valuable asset, so use it wisely.
Be patient, take consistent action, and work towards building strong and lasting
traffic sources.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0
